Speaker - Shri. B.N.Sharma IG, BSF (Rtd.)

Shri. Bholanath Sharma former Inspector General, BSF spoke at the second session of The Swarajya Conclave, Themed on Redefining: Security Apparatus in North East. During his opening remarks Shri. Sharma shared his intensive experience of over nearly four decades of serving in the Border Security Force where he held key command portfolios.

Shri. Sharma in his address highlighted the current security challenges prevailing in the northeast & expressed his concerns over the illegal immigration from the Bangladeshi side with a major influx of Rohingya Immigrants who are continuously trying to cross the border illegally. Moreover, Shri. Sharma even talked about BSF's strategy & capabilities to deal with the rising illegal immigration at Indo-Bangladesh Border.

Shri. Sharma described the evolving role of security forces deployed on the border areas & explained in-depth the areas of coordination & cooperation with the civilians. Moreover, Shri. Sharma even expressed his concerns in response to a question on recent border clashes between Assam & Mizoram. He added that such incidents can be avoided with earlier interventions & if incidents like these happen then they raise questions on our federal polity.

Concludingly, Shri B.N.Sharma congratulated Swaraj Bharat for holding this important conference under the banner of The Swarajya Conclave & greeted us for our future endeavors.
